Why Timing Matters

When you water is almost as important as how much. The right timing means the difference between healthy plants and disease-prone ones.

Morning is Best

Early morning (5-9 AM) is ideal. Plants have moisture for the day when they need it most. Water on leaves dries quickly in morning sun, reducing fungal disease risk.

Avoid Evening Watering

Evening is the worst time. Water sits on leaves and soil overnight, creating ideal conditions for fungal diseases, mildew, and rot. Slugs also thrive in moist conditions.

Afternoon is OK in Emergencies

Afternoon watering loses much to evaporation but is fine if a plant is wilting. Just switch to morning for regular watering.

Adjust for Weather

On hot, windy days, morning water is essential. On cool, cloudy days, you can water later. Before rain, skip watering. The Personal Harvest Helper app gives daily watering recommendations based on your local weather.
